Inland Seas' topmasts are both in place, so she looks a proper "tall ship". The main topmast was stepped on Thursday, with the crew headed by Allen Wolfe, and the fore top went up today under the direction of Capt. Remy Champt. The photo shows Jan and Allen aloft intalling the topmast shrouds and stays. Next comes installing the blocks, booms, running rigging and sails.

AHOY:
ReplyDeleteAs some of us know, Capt. Champt showed up to help with the top masts..... Sicker than the "Black Dog of Lake Erie", and the rest of the crew sent him home. If on Monday, the schooner arrived to find Capt. Kastle on shore, then there were 5 Captains. BUT.. Isn't Bob Haggerman an honorary Captain - at least when the boat is at the dock and no one else is around with Capt. Papers?
I'll salute you Bob.
