Found on the Beach Today

Some photos taken today on the Lake Michigan beaches of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.  I was there with my daughter Emma while she did e-coli sampling.

Inland Seas Returns From Escanaba

Capt. Remy Champt brought Inland Seas home from Escanaba yesterday. He reported a rough ride for the first part of the journey, but good sailing for the remaining 12 hour crossing.  Our next public program will be Friday morning's Family Ecology Sail (sold out).  You can visit Inland Seas all day on Saturday July 16 at ISEA's Summer Festival

Inland Seas at Escanaba

Preparing to launch message in a bottle (science is fun!)

Where are we?

Making 9+ mph on broad reach

Inland Seas arrived at Escanaba after a 12 houir, 6 minute passage from Suttons Bay.  Motorsailed most of the way, but finished with a long reach up Little Bay de Noc making 9 - 11 mph with 3 lower sails.  Welcomed to Esky by Maria and a committee working on the Tall Ship Festival here.  Big thunderstorm hit about an hour after arrival.  -Capt. Tom

ISEA Underwater Camera - DockCam - Back in Operation

Visit the Inland Seas Education Center in Suttons Bay and see the ISEA DockCam in action.  Our next step is to get this on our web site.

Thanks to Lee Hepner and Phil Loud for getting this system running again.
